Day 17 - Plyo

Today went well. I was back full force on my diet, was able to my carido at lunch, walked home from work, and did Plyometrics. Plyo was especially rough last night when I did it. I was sweating something fierce, but hey that means I am doing something. I felt better about getting back into the full swing of things for the second day and wil continue to do so.

I was a bit hard on myself over the little slips, but the important thing is that I stick with this as an overall lifestyle change. I may slip up here and there but unlike the past where I would let that lead me right back into my old habits I am now more aware that a few cheat meals here and there are always better than everyday and every meal being a cheat meal!!!

Day 16 - Chest and Back

I am a day behind in my workout, but will catch up by this weekend. I got myself back on the horse and eating right again this morning. I was in meetings all day long and had food brought in, but managed to refocus myself and eat right. It would have been easy to slip back into my old habits, but I got on the BB message board today and saw all the success and got soem feedback from others who had slipped and told me it was all right.
Did the workout tonight and even after all of the vigor to get back into it I did not feel I had a great workout. I really need to push push push myself to get to the X-treme! In addition I should have done Ab Ripper X and did not do it! I will do it tonight with Melanie, because she like to do that one with me. On a positive note I have lost 16 lbs to date and 3 " from stomach and hips. Only 2 1/2 weeeks in (with my slips) and have made good progress. As long as I stay focused and do not fall off the program I will succeed.

Day 15 - Chest and Back- once again supposed to be!

I came off a bad day yesterday and felt bad about it and overall did not feel energized and rather than working out and making it better I blew off the workout and had another bad day of eating. Melanie was out of town, so I guess I felt that I had no one to watch me, not that she does, but I was also not eating the bad food in front of anyone. I had felt guilty about the day before, but this made me feel extremely guilty and started disliking my actions.

I had made this same type of backward slip in the past and many times it led me to blowing the diet and workout off for months until I got sick of it all enough again to retry. Unfortunately I was working all day and ws not getting online to get teh support of the message boards or post here to keep myself motivated.

Day 14 - Kenpo

Yesterday I had blown off Kenpo, so I used the day off or stretch to catch up. I did the Kenpo and still find it a bit easy of a workout. I am still not pushing myself hard enough i guess, but glad that I got the workout in.
Sunday afternoon I went to the Hawk's game with my buddies Dave and Mike and fell off the wagon. We were in a luxury box and surrounded by food. I ended up eating junk that night including pizza, cookies, and other snacks. I was mad at myself, but thought that the Abs diet said to take a break once a week.

Day 13 - Kenpo - well was supposed to be!

Day 13 was supposed to be kenpo, but Melanie and I ended up running around all day bored and looking to do something. We ended up car shopping and as anyone who has looked to buy a new car it took all day. In the end we ended up going to two places and to Carmax, but never bought a car. We got home late and I had bought a bose speaker system, so I was to interested in setting that up and blew working out off....dumb!!
I really did feel guilty about it, but was too excited about getting my speakers set up. Looking back I know I could have gotten it in.

Day 12 - legs and Back

Today I was traveling back from Dallas and was able to get up in the morning and do a 30 minute cardio workout. I knew I was not going to get home until late, so I wanted to make sure I got some type of workout in.
I got home around 9:00 PM and did my leg and back workout. By the date you can see I ma posting this almost a week later, but I need to get caught up and get motivated more. The workout went well and I was proud that I was working out rather than boozing it up and eating pizza, beer, and wings at Durkin's.

Day 11 - Yoga

Today was a bit of a challenge because I was traveling to Dallas for work, but I made it through it without totally screwing up my diet and exercise program. There was lunch brought in for the meeting, so I was able to eat salad and some chicken with marinara sauce. I am sure there was sugar in the marinara sauce, and I grabbed a few croutons, but overall still good. At dinner I had beef tenderloin with green beans and a few small bites of the potatoes. Oh yeah I did have a roll - no no!
I did Yoga at the end of the day and actually completed the entire workout. I did substitute some warrior stretches towards the end when they were doing some of the advanced moves. I was happy with my work for the yoga, and am getting more used to the moves and feel as though I can focus more on stretching further compared to focusing on what to do.

This was the first day away from home, and considering I did not do too bad Ima happy. I had not cheated in any way prior to today, so the small roll and few croutons were not horrible. It actually served to show me that eating a little of the stuff was not really worth it. I managed to workout and have all my meals which is the important part.

Day 10 - Shoulder and Arms

Last night was shoulder and arms which went well. I want to focus as musch as possible on using the correct form and really squeezing the muscle for maximum results. Tony mentions pushing your body past what your mind and the pain. I need to focus on driving the most out of my body and not stopping when it hurts.

Ab Ripper X was last night as well and it is still very hard. I guess I am getting a few more here and there, but overall I am still falling short on a lot of the exercises. I want to push past the pain and get through an entire set.

Day 9 - Plyo

Day 9 went well I did my half an hour of cardio at lunch and walked home from work. Actually I even ran part of the way home in my work clothes! I have been getting a little moody lately. I am not sure if it is the diet, or just life in general, but thepast few days I have been a little grumpier.
The Plymometric workout went well and I was sweating up a storm. As bad as it looks, I like to take off my shirt to focus on the weight I have to lose and push myself harder. The fact that there is a guy with one leg in the video helps to eliminate the feeling of it is too hard for me to do.
Diet has been going well, but I have been slacking a bit on the vegetables. I received my Ab Diet in the mail yesterday and will read on plane to Dallas on Thursday, so that may help to tighten diet up a bit.
Until tomorrow...you know

Day 8 Chest & Back / Ab Ripper X

Today was my first repeat workout and I have to say that although it is a good workout I do not feel as though I am reaping the true benefits of the workout. I admit that I can not do many push/pull ups, but even with using chair or knees I still only get a low number. I am not feeling the burn the way I can if I am using weights with the correct weight. I am by no means knocking th eprogram, but still want to maximaize my results...

Ab Ripper X as usual was brutal! I try to get as many as possible but on 75% of the exerccises I am resting by halfway or before on the 25 reps. I knwo it will get better, so I am keeping fiocused. All else is going well with diet and health, except felt a little tight on walk home last night. Until tomorrow keep bringing it..

Day 7 Stretch

Yesterday was day 7 of my P90X journey and it allowed either to do the stretch workout, or use it as a rest day. I opted to do the strecth workout, because I felt that yesterday's Kenpo was a bit easy and wanted to keep the body loose and make as much progress in not only building muscle andlosing fat, but also becoming more flexible.

The workout was enjoyable, I especially liked the back rolls which helped to loosen my back nicely. Like Tony says he is able to do things now that he could not 10 years before because of stretching and Yoga. I knew I was not extemely limber, but the tapes showing muscular guys strecthing as far as some of the girls made me realize that it was just a guy/girl thing.

One thing that did happen during the stretch workout that really bothered/motivated me even more was the amount of fat around my waist that I got really close and personnal with during the workout. I mean, hey I knew I was overweight, but this really showed me how much extra flab I had around my stomach! Anyone else experiece this feeling during this by chance??? In the end I actually even took off my shirt to focus on it more and help to keep motivated and reach further for each stretch and have a picture in my head to motivate me more during every workout. Until tomorrow (actually today again...) keep bringing it!!

Day 6 Kenpo

Now here was a fun workout. I did not feel the intensity, or sweat pouring off my body like the first half of yoga but it was still a new alternative cardio workout. Like I have read on other blogs and the BB message boards - I am feeling much more energy and clearer mind. I am definitely feeling better about myself, but still want to push myself harder andd maimize my results.
The workout fell on a Saturday and throughtout the entire day I was organizing stuff around the house, running errands, and keeping active. In weeks, months, etc. past I would have probabnly lounged around watching TV all day, or gone out and ate to give myself something to do. In addition I was awake at the crack of dawn since I had not drank the night before and felt great (no hangover), and felt good about doing it.
I really see why there is so much passion around the program and the message boards. Working out has always given me similar feelings, but the added Yoga, Kenpo and Isometrics type excercises has given me a new revitalization to working out. I am sticking with it, and will keep pushing play.

Day 5 Legs and Back

The workout has been going good so far this week and I did my 30 minutes at lunch of HIIT and 10 minutes on bike. Friday's P90X workout was legs and back. This was a good workout, but I definitely needed to push myself more. I did not feel the pain and burn the next day like I did with the other workouts. Now that I have the weights recorded and have done it once I can push it harder(bring it) next time. I definitely want to make the most out of the workuts and program as a whole!
